“Born with Purpose. Live in Purpose. Destined on Purpose.” This quote not only represents, but demonstrates the life of Charles E. Jones III. Born June 9, 1995, Charles is a native of Raleigh, North Carolina where he has been in church ever since he was a little boy. From singing in the choir, playing the drums, and being a praise/worship leader; the church has been a very intimate part of Charles’ life, stretching over the past ten (10) years. He was birthed by two loving parents, Mr. Charles E. Jones II and Mrs. Oladuni Jones, and arguably the most handsome of his two siblings, Caleb and Camron (sibling humor).
Charles Jones graduated from Wake Forest High School in 2014. Some of his outstanding awards received include the Band Director’s Choice Scholarship, the John Philip Sousa Award, a scholarship from the Thurgood Marshall College Fund and a marching band scholarship as a freshman in college. As a current senior at the illustrious North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University, Charles was once a member of the Blue and Gold Marching Machine. However, after two years of marching, God redirected his life and told him to join the North Carolina A&T State University Fellowship Gospel Choir.
This redirection changed Charles’ life for the better. After discovering his vocal talents and overcoming nervousness, Charles was afforded the opportunity to sing the National Anthem at the John Wall Holiday Invitational in December of 2016. This was the opportunity that showed Charles that his voice would be the catalyst to so many more opportunities.
